Why so few older people featured in ads

Good advertising reflects culture. Great adverting shapes culture. Yet it’s not at all surprising that Madison Avenue has ignored or entirely missed the massive societal shift happening as our global population ages. One only has to look at the ad industry’s preoccupation with youth in its own ranks to know why there's so little advertising accurately reflecting Boomers. Consumers 50+ control $7.6 trillion in spending and 80% of the wealth in America and their spending power will continue to grow through 2050.
